A Louisiana man has been busted after being discovered living in a teenaged girl’s bedroom closet.

Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Spring Hill, Fla., home after the parents of a 15-year-old girl found the man inside their daughter’s closet.

The man allegedly told investigators he had driven from Louisiana to have sex with the unidentified teen.

“The suspect advised on this current trip, he had been in Hernando County for about five weeks and had sex with the victim on numerous occasions,” law enforcement stated.

Johnathan Rossmoine, 36, is charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious behaviour with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16 and one count of obscene communication.

Rossmoine and the girl met two years ago through an online chat app that police described as allowing “users to chat via text and voice using virtual avatars.”

The girl called him her boyfriend, police say, and said she initially told him she was 18 but confessed her true age before they met in person.

According to police, the accused told authorities he had travelled several times from Louisiana to meet the victim.

The girl told police that Rossmoine had been living off and on inside her closet since Aug. 19.

“The suspect would hide in the closet when the victim’s parents were home,” police stated, “only coming out when they left for work.”

Det. Tom Cameron told TV station Fox13 the victim’s parents became suspicious when they heard noises emanating from the girl’s bedroom.

His bond is set at US$25,000.
