SOUTH GLENGARRY — A 75-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle collision Tuesday morning on County Road 19, between County Road 20 and Headline Road.
SDG OPP said that at about 6:24 a.m., the man was driving his westbound passenger vehicle when it left the roadway and rolled. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
SDG OPP, with assistance from OPP traffic collision investigators, remain on scene to conduct their investigation. Detours were in place between Headline Road and County Road 20.
Assault, noxious substance, breaches
A 35-year-old man from Cornwall is facing seven charges after police responded to a complaint received Monday.
Police alleged the man went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and got into an altercation with her, during which he assaulted her with bear mace.
The man, whose identity was not released, was charged with assault with a weapon; administer noxious substance; and, five counts of breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within 100 metres of her, possessing a weapon, failing to remain in his residence, and attending a certain address.
He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
A 23-year-old woman is facing a charge after police responded to a complaint on Monday.
Police alleged the woman assaulted her boyfriend during an altercation.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was charged with assault.
She was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Sept. 10.
Break and enter, breach
A 38-year-old man from Cornwall is facing two charges after police investigated a complaint received on Saturday.
Police alleged the man entered the residence of someone he knows, and removed various items without permission. He was arrested on Monday.
Travis Cook, 38, was charged with break and enter, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace.
He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Sept. 8.
A 35-year-old man from Cornwall is facing three charges after police responded to a Ninth Street business on Monday.
Police alleged the man removed merchandise from the store without paying for it. He was stopped by the store’s loss-prevention officer and later transferred into police custody.
Mark Tyo, 35, was charged with theft under $5,000, and two counts of breach of probation for attending a certain business, and failing to keep the peace.
He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Sept. 10.
