A St. Thomas, Ont., man faces several firearms charges following an arrest in North Bay, Tuesday.

North Bay police responded to information that a man who had been staying at a Lakeshore Drive motel was attempting to sell a handgun.

Brian Conlin, 29, faces two counts each of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, as well as single counts of trafficking a firearm and failing to comply with a release order.

Police seized a .22-calibre pistol, a silver black-powder revolver, a starter pistol, a pellet gun, 20 cartridges of .270-calibre rifle ammunition, 100 cartridges of .22-calibre long rifle ammunition and a crossbow.

Conlin remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
