Sudbury letter: Time for a new city council
The bold-faced hypocrisy is mind-boggling. The same mayor who a few weeks ago bragged publicly that he was “proud” to stiff us with a four per cent-plus property tax increase, (the largest municipal tax increase in Ontario this year), now wants to offer a ‘deferral’ to those of us financially hard-pressed by his action.

Sudbury letter:War Amps Key Tag Service making a difference
The War Amps Key Tag Service is celebrating a milestone this year – its 75th anniversary. The service has not only been reuniting Canadians with their lost keys, but it has also been helping to make a difference in the lives of amputees. To date, more than 1.5 million sets of lost keys have been returned to their owners. Although it’s a free service, donations enable the Association to operate its many programs for amputees, including veterans and children.
Sudbury letter: Professor was right to speak up about Laurentian mess, MP says
The crisis at Laurentian University has implications for all of Northern Ontario. It is for this reason that I have been meeting with faculty and students and using every tool we have at the federal parliament to shine a light on the gutting of this world-class university. The staff and students are hurting. They need to know we will be there for them.
Sudbury letter: There appears to be no help for students to find work
As you may know, we are still in the swing of the pandemic. As a world, we have a lot going on. As a student you know here in Sudbury, we have our own issues going on, but there is an issue that hasn’t been addressed by any part of the government.
